An Experiment
In 2020 Covid-19 hit worldwide and many found themselves on "lockdowns" and out of work, including the film industry. During this time filmmaker "marQ" created Cine-Vlog 2020 (Cinematic Vlogging), a genre intended to force a filmmaker to make a movie with a GoPro or other action camera.
CineVlog2020 forces a filmmaker into not relying on the latest or expensive equipment, but freeing themselves and shooting from the hip or run and gun. "Bring filmmaking back to it's bare bones roots."
Taking to heart Francis Ford Coppola’s famous quote- “Suddenly, one day some little girl in Ohio is going to be the new Mozart and make a beautiful film with her father’s camera and for once the so called professionalism about movies will be destroyed forever - and it will really become an art form.”
The Rules
• Must only shoot with one Action Sport Camera, e.g. GoPro Hero or DJI Osmo Action. Note: GoPro Hero 7s and above have great audio. Consumer/Prosumer Drones are allowed, 4 props max.
• The sound must be captured all in camera the use of one lavalier or shotgun mic is allowed.
• Ambient lighting only no extra lighting. A single light may be attached to the camera for interiors or darker scenes.
• Camera must be hand-held or a selfie stick with legs.
• At least one character needs to be in a VLOGGING style set up. Breaking 4th Wall.
• Up to 8 Special Effects/Grfx shots allowed.
• No stock footage, photos or Stock Music
• Film must be 10-30 minutes including credits.
• 10 days maximum of Production/Shooting
• Maximum Production Crew of 2
